Anglesey Test Day and Racing 22nd March and 5th / 6th April 2003

This was the first time out at Anglesey Circuit this year since my big spill at The Anglesey Grand in October. These were 2 test days and a race meet organised by The Wirral 100 MCC.

First test day was brilliant.. managed to get my lap times down further than ever. Didn't fall off. Enough said.

Next test day prior to race meet was a bit colder. I was due out on my second session of the day. Whipped off the tyre warmers and got right out there .. but.. the tyre warmers hadn't been conected properly.. u can guess the rest.. I fell off on the warm up lap on COLD tyres .. ARRGH! Broke my footrest and it later transpired that I had bent the frame slightly too.
All this and I was due to race te next day :-(

Thanks to a nice man who have me an RGV footrest which we bothced onto the RS I managed to get it out again that day and through scrutineering the next day.

I had entered the Formula 400 class so had 3 races on the day. It was completely bloody mad and the most fun I have ever had with my clothes on. Apologies to John Creasy on his RGV whom I thwacked with me knee as I left my braking stupidly late on the hairpin, nearly running us both off in the process.
Despite starting 26th on the grid I managed to finish 19th in the first race but went backwards the rest of the day finishing 21st and 23rd in subsequent outings. Last race was very annoying as I completely lost the plot on the last lap and 2 riders came past me on the last bend.. pah! Still, a respectable day's racing considering a bent frame, and I never fell off so can't be bad.
